What an opportunity!

The Geleentheid Trust is a charitable organisation that awards scholarships to talented Grade 6 learners from the Stellenbosch, Paarl and Kuilsriver areas who can’t afford to attend leading schools in Stellenbosch. We’re currently supporting 11 scholars.

A group of friends making a difference

The Geleentheid Trust was founded in 2008 by Michiel le Roux and Emile van Biljon. The idea originated from a late night conversation over a few beers and became reality soon after. What started with a bunch of friends giving something back has grown into a sizeable organisation.

Geleentheid Trust aims to give kids from poor communities the same sort of opportunities that its donors had when growing up.

Funding

We’re funded by monthly debit order contributions of typically between R300 and R500 from our members and Stellenbosch alumni. At R500 per month, nine members can fund one scholarship. Currently around 50 members support the Geleentheid Trust. To donate click here.
